The Eldorado Springs Cure Run
was organized by a small group of people with family members stricken by cancer and under the care of Dr. William Robinson, a medical oncologist at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Robinson grew up and still lives in Eldorado Springs, which made the historic town a natural choice for the race venue. From its inception, the event has raised money to support the research of Dr. Robinson and his colleagues. The race led to the creation of the Colorado Cancer Foundation, which, in addition to the race, coordinates other fund raising events for cancer research and cancer patient support.
This year's race will be held on August 9, 2007.
